
Gosainkunda

Gosainkunda lake, situated at an altitude of about 4,360m is one of Nepal's most famous religious places for pilgrimage as well as a great tourist location, full of adventure. The grand picturesque lake is surrounded by high mountains on the north. This esteemed location for trekking and mountaineering passes through varied landscapes ranging from evergreen forest, cascading waterfalls and turbulent streams to alpine grass, barren mountainsides and even a glacier if you choose that particular route.
.........Through Dhunche, 132 kilometers north-east of Kathmandu, can be the best approach for trekkers to Gosainkunda. From Dhunche it takes two days for trekers of normal trekking speed. Kathmandu and Dhunche are linked by a motorable road.
..........Kyanjen Gompa, a destination of a life time is on the way to Gosaikunda, which is a huge valley with mountains all around where the glaciers meet the alpine meadows and the pine, oak and rhododendron forests – every eye on earth would admire.
